A professional profile is the kind of profile you find at the back of a book or the interior of a dust jacket. Here you have an example:

https://www.agoraspeakers.org/pages/display221
A professional profile is composed of three elements:

• A Square headshot picture, at least 512 x 512 pixels. Try to have a solid background over which your face stands out, and to have a professional look. However, this is not a passport-photo, so relax and smile. Pictures slightly from the side work best, while head-on ID-type pictures work worst.

• A Contact Email (or other means of contact) that you want to be published.

• A three to five paragraph (about 150-200 words) introduction about you, written in the third person and including your current professional ocupation. For example:

Valentina Teleshkova is a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Tsiolkovski university. Very early in her life she identified Space as her passion, and earned a fellowship position at Roskosmos, becoming a Pilot at the age of 27 and Ship Captain at the age of 32. She was the first woman to set a foot on Mars in 2022. Currently, she’s the CEO of Space Travels, Inc., where she helps people find the best travel opportunities in Space. She shares this passion with a relentless interest in sharing knowledge. She can be reached at [email protected]

Don't shy away if you want to promote in a line or so your current or future business occupation as seen above, but don't turn the whole of it into an ad. Be subtle.

If you’ve never written these kinds of short professional bios, here's some advice and examples:

And here are some questions that can organize your flow:

  • What's your name, current city, and country, and academic background?
  • What are, in two sentences, the main highlights of your professional career?
  • If you have any awards, conference keynote participations or similar, please mention them in a sentence or two.
  • How and why did you get involved with Agora?
  • Provide your current professional position - what you do, what kind of services you offer, etc.
  • Provide some hobby, interest, area of knowledge, sport, etc. that you're passionate about, or maybe some detail about your family.
  • Optionally, Provide an EMail address where people can reach you.
